Trinidad Scorpion Dried Pods

The dried Trinidad Scorpion is an extremely hot dried pepper.

The Trinidad Scorpion is one of the hottest peppers in the world. The pepper was number 1 for a short time, but was soon overtaken by the current number 1, the Carolina Reaper. Some scorpion peppers get a scorpion tail and originally the pepper comes from Trinidad, hence the name Trinidad Scorpion. The chillies have a delicious, fruity taste, but are incredibly spicy! It is therefore recommended to work with small portions due to the extreme hotness of the product and also be careful when processing the dried Trinidad Scorpion.

Preparation – Fry the dried chillies in a dry frying pan on medium heat for about 2 minutes. This will release the essential oils and give them more flavour. Then rehydrate by soaking them in hot water for about 15/20 minutes, then chop as you prefer.
